Remember when I said I loved video game music? Here's another great example of that.
After playing Parasite Eve I decided I needed the soundtrack, composed by Yoko Shimomura, one of the greats in the field. At this point I don't remember what inspired me to make this track, but I enjoyed every second of it. It serves as an homage to the score, and the game, and its one of my favorite pieces of my own work (and I will readily hate my own stuff if it's warranted, let me tell you).
Stereo Static presents:
Parasite Event
This was a complex piece to put together. I used the main theme of the game as the main theme of the piece and supplemented it with a handful of the other themes. Most of the percussion are right from the original tracks, although I did supplement these with a few loops.
The arrangement of this piece didn't come to me as intuitively as most of the others. Somewhere around the 3:25 mark I started to have a little trouble matching up the pieces of the soundtrack that I wanted to use with my original compositional ideas. I experimented for a while before I hit upon something that I liked, and finished the piece.
Aside from that, I didn't have any real issues with this one; it was relatively straight forward work.
As usually, comments and critiques are welcome and encouraged. Enjoy
